India under Modi moving with Hindu Supremacist agenda, says Imran Khan; New Delhi hits back

Islamabad/New Delhi/IBNS: A day after New Delhi passed the contentious Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2019, in Parliament, Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan on Thursday intruded into India's internal policy slamming the country for moving with a "Hindu Supremacist agenda" under the Narendra Modi regime.

"India, under Modi, has been moving systematically with its Hindu Supremacist agenda. Starting with illegal annexation & continuing siege of IOJK; then stripping 2 mn Indian Muslim in Assam of citizenship, setting up internment camps; now the passage of Citizenship Amendment Law;" Khan tweeted.

The Pakistan Prime Minister also compared the Modi government with "Nazi Germany" and said the agenda will lead to "bloodshed and far-reaching consequences for the world".

He said, "All this accompanied by mob lynchings of Muslims & other minorities in India. World must realise, as appeasement of the genocidal Supremacist agenda of Nazi Germany eventually led to WWII, Modi's Hindu Supremacist agenda, accompanied by threats to Pak under a nuclear overhang, will lead to massive bloodshed & far-reaching consequences for the world.

As in Nazi Germany, in Modi's India dissent has been marginalised & the world must step in before it is too late, to counter this Hindu Supremacist agenda of Modi's India threatening bloodshed & war."

Terming Khan's statement as "unwarranted", Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) spokesperson Raveesh Kumar said, "Pakistan must introspect and see how the religious minorities in its country are getting treated. The whole world knows how Pakistan treats its minorities. I would urge Pakistan to protect the rights of its own minorities."

This is not the first time Khan is vocal against India over the CAB. On Dec 10, the Pakistan Prime Minister said the CAB is a violation of "human rights law" even as Pakistan is itself pilloried on global platforms for human rights violations from Balochistan and other troubled areas.

Daring to term the Modi government as "fascist", the Pakistan Prime Minister had tweeted, "We strongly condemn Indian Lok Sabha citizenship legislation which violates all norms of int human rights law & bilateral agreements with Pak. It is part of the RSS "Hindu Rashtra" design of expansionism propagated by the fascist Modi Govt."

After getting passed by the Lok Sabha on Monday by a overwhelming majority, the CAB- which will grant citizenship to all non-Muslim refugees who came to India from Bangladesh, Pakistan and Afghanistan before 2015- was passed by the Rajya Sabha on Wednesday evening with the support of 125 members as opposed to 99 MPs who had other voted against the bill.
