India, Pakistan exchange sweets to mark India Republic Day

Jammu, Jan 27 (IBNS) The two armies of India and Pakistan in a gesture of bonhomie exchanged sweets on the Line of Control adjoining the posts at Chakan-da-Bagh and Roshni on India's 66th Republic Day.

At Chakan-da Bagh the Indian Army side was represented by two Officers, one Junior Commissioned Officer and seven Other Ranks while the team from Pakistan Army comprised  of two Officers, one Junior Commissioned Officer and six Other Ranks .The Officers named Major Shehzad Ahmed and Lieutenant Rahez represented the Pakistan Army.

Soldiers of both the countries also exchanged greetings and sweets at a similar function adjoining the posts on Line of Control at Roshni with two Officers, two Junior Commissioned Officers and 22 Other Ranks present from Indian Army to share this historic moment with their Pakistani counterparts represented by its two Officers named Major Parvez and Captain Asaan alongwith, one Junior Commissioned Officer and sixteen Other Ranks.
