India became rape capital under Modi's rule: Rahul Gandhi in Jharkhand

Hazaribagh/IBNS: Reiterating his previous comment, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi during poll campaign in Jharkhand on Monday said India became the rape capital to the world under the Narendra Modi government.

"Earlier the world used to imitate India for our fast economy. Now India under the Modi government became the rape capital to the entire world," Rahul said in Hazaribagh.

"Our Prime Minister used to say about women's safety but he remains silent when such incidents happen. The Prime Minister remains silent when his own party members get accused," the Congress MP added.

Rahul while speaking at his Lok Sabha constituency Wayanad on last Saturday said, "Today international papers look at us and they say India does not know how to treat its own women and the reason is that there is a complete failure of leadership in the country."

In the Jharkhand rally, Rahul on Monday also promised loan waiver to all farmers if the Congress is voted to power.

The Congress in December 2018 wrested power in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh after promising farm loan waiver in the campaign trails.
