India almost out of COVID-19 shadow: Amit Shah

New Delhi/UNI/IBNS: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday said India is almost out of the shadow of COVID-19 pandemic, and added that the Centre and state fought the battle together.

Speaking at the 51st conference of Governors and Lt. Governors at Rashtrapati Bhawan, the Home Minister said, "Under the leadership of PM Narendra Modi, along with states, we have together fought this Covid 19 pandemic successfully.

"We have crossed 100 crore vaccine doses and are moving away from the shadow of this Corona pandemic".

Shah explained, "In the leadership of PM Modi, India fought this battle as 'one nation, one people, one mind', the whole world is appreciating how India fought the battle against COVID-19 pandemic.

"The PM held at least 20 meetings with CMs, and also held several meetings with governors."

President Ram Nath Kovind is chairing the 51st conference of Governors and Lieutenant Governors at Rashtrapati Bhavan on Thursday.

Vice President M. Venkaiah Naidu, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi are also attending the conference.

India added 13,091 new COVID-19 cases while the toll went up by 340 in the last 24 hours, the Union Health Ministry stated on Thursday.

During this period, 13,878 COVID-19 patients have recovered taking the recovery percentage to 98.25%, the highest since Mar 2020.

The active cases are now 0.40% of the total cases, the lowest since Mar 2020.

India's active caseload is now 1,38,556, the lowest in 266 days.

Under the national vaccination drive, 110.23 crore anti-COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered so far in the vast country of 1.3 billion people.
