India accepts Pak offer to fly home from Karachi 11 Indians rescued from Yemen

New Delhi, Apr 8 (IBNS) India has accepted Pakistan's offer to fly home 11 Indians evacuated by a Pakistani naval ship from the strife-torn Yemen.

Reports said the Indians,  rescued along with a group of Pakistanis, reached Karachi by ship on Tuesday .  Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif offered a special plane to transport them home.

Pakistan High Commissioner Abdul Basit tweeted: "India has accepted Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif's offer of a special plane to fly 11 Indian nationals to India with gratitude."

The Indians, stranded in the Yemeni port of Mukalla were evacuated by a Pakistani warship.

India has so far evacuated 4,100 of its national from Yemen in the past week.

The Indian government has received requests from 26 countries, including the US, France, Germany, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh to help evacuate their citizens from Yemen, witnessing a fierce war between the Saudi Arabian-led Sunni coalition of 10 nations and the Iraan-backed  Shia Houthi rebels.
