Huge cache of arms-ammunition, including Chinese hand grenade, recovered in Manipur’s Moreh

Guwahati: The troops of Assam Rifles and Manipur police recovered huge cache of arms and ammunition in Manipur’s Tengnoupal district.

Acting on a tip-off, combine troops of 43 Assam Rifles and Manipur police commando llaunched an operation at Moreh area in Tengnoupal district on Monday and recovered the hidden arms and ammunition from a house.

Security forces seized two M-16 rifles, two AK-56 rifles, two 9 mm pistols, one Chinese hand grenade, a large cache of various ammunition and nine magazines of assault rifles, three magazines of pistols and other warlike stores from the house of Thanlet Haokip.

Later, the recovered arms, ammunition and warlike stores were handed over to the Moreh police station for further legal action.
