Home Ministry seeks report from Punjab Govt on teenager's death

Chandigarh, Apr 30 (IBNS) The Ministry of Home Affairs has sought a report from Punjab government over the shocking death of a 14-year-old girl who along with her mother were pushed off a moving bus after being molested by a group of men.
The incident took place on Wednesday night on the Moga-Bhatinda highway, near Moga city in Punjab.
 
The bus is owned by a company where the family of Chief Finisher Prakash Singh Badal has a stake.
 
 "Unfortunately it is our bus and a Himalyan blunder has happened. I feel bad about it, and regardless of the vehicle I am sad," said Badal.
 
The incident found echo in Parliament with the Congress and AAP lawmakers raising the issue and blaming the government in Punjab for the crime. 
 
Reports said the mother is seriously injured and in hospital while the girl died after they were pushed off the bus. The incident occurred in Moga district of Punjab on Moga-Bhatinda highway, near Moga city.
 
The injured mother, 38, said no one helped them as they were thrown off the running bus. She was picked up from road in a sorry state and taken to Civil Hospital, Baghapurana, for treatment but the girl died after she was thrown off the bus. 
 
The  the incident prompted Leader of Opposition in Punjab Assembly Sunil Kumar Jakhar and Punjab Congress president Partap Singh Bajwa to lead a protest in front of Badal's residence.
 
Bajwa has demanded that a murder case be registered against Badal.
 
 police managed to arrest the driver and the conductor of the bus on Thrusday  morning.
 
The Chief Minister said the probe is on and assured the people that all the accused will be arrested.
