Himachal Pradesh issues high alert, seals border with J&K

Shimla, Aug 5 (UNI) The Himachal Pradesh police issued a high alert to all security forces in the state, in the wake of abrogation of Article 370 from the state of Jammu and Kashmir, on Monday.

Director-General of Police HP Sita Ram Mardi met Governor Kalraj Mishra, to apprise him about the state's security condition.

Meanwhile, the DGP, issuing a security alert to Police Chiefs in all 13 districts, directed to beef up deployment in the state.

All the interstate, especially borders with Jammu and Kashmir, were sealed and vigil was increased, to avert any untoward incident.

The Indian Armed forces were deployed on the Chamba-Doda border, which this hill state, shares with J&K, in the wake of high alert.

Security forces have been tightened around major public installations, dams and hydropower projects.
