Himachal Pradesh: At least 27 injured as bus fells into deep gorge in Kangra

Dharamshala, Nov 25 (UNI) At least 27 passengers were injured, three of them seriously, when a private bus in which they were travelling rolled down into 100-feet-deep gorge at Bhangroo village falling under Jawali sub-division of Kangra district on Monday morning, police said here.

Police said that the ill-fated bus was on its way from Kuthaird to Jawali when it met with an accident after the driver lost control on the bus while giving pass to another vehicle and rolled down into the gorge. A tragedy was averted as it got stuck with a tree while sliding into the gorge.

There was no loss of life in the accident, police said and added that seriously injured were rushed to DRPG Medical College at Tanda and Civil Hospital Nurpur.

Jawali MLA Arjun Thakur reached the spot and later visited the hospital where injured were undergoing treatment. He said that the expenses of treatment of all the injured will be borne by the state government. Officiating SDM also visited the spot.

Police registered a case and started investigation.
