Mumbai, July 1 (IBNS): Heavy overnight rains in Mumbai led to water-logging on railway tracks as several trains were either delayed or cancelled in the city on Monday, officials said.

Mumbai experienced heavy rainfalls for the past few days.

Western Railways posted a message on its Twitter page that said some trains in the Mumbai-Valsad-Surat section have been cancelled due to water-logging in Palghar section.

It later informed that train movement has started at Palghar in Mumbai Division.

According to private forecaster Skymet Weather website, "In the last 6 hours since 11.30 pm yesterday to 5.30 am today, Santa Cruz observatory has seen 63 mm of rainfall. Before that, yesterday, only 11 mm of rains were observed."

The forecaster said rains will continue in Mumbai on Monday.

"Mumbai rains are expected to get intense starting the night of July 3 wherein hefty showers will be seen as the weather system which formed in the Bay will move towards the West Coast giving heavy showers," it said.
