Headmaster shot dead by unidentified gunman in Assam

Guwahati, Oct 20 (IBNS) : A headmaster of a primary school was shot dead by an unidentified gunman in Assam's Jorhat district on Monday, police said.

Dwijen Gogoi, the headmaster of Nimunabagan primary school in the upper Assam district, was called out of the institution by an unidentified gunman. He then shot Gogoi and fled from the spot.

The teacher died on spot.

The police had recovered an empty cartridge of point 32 pistol from the spot.

The police have launched an operation to nab the accused person.
