New Delhi, Feb 22 (IBNS) The Indian army had to fly in the mortal remains of martyred Captain Pawan Kumar to his home town in Jind for the funeral as several roads in Haryana remained blocked on Monday and reports of fresh violence reported from Sonepat, according to media reports.

Venkaiah Naidu has been appointed to oversee the proceedings, according to reports.
Earlier the Supreme Court had rejected an appeal by the Jats to grant them OBC status as the apex court said that the community does not come under the demanded criteria in Haryana.
The Jats had received a special OBC status by the preceding CM Bhupinder Singh Hooda in 2013, but that was stayed later by the Punjab and Haryana High Court in 2015.
