Gujarat Governor transferred to Mizoram

New Delhi, July 6 (IBNS): Gujarat Governor Kamla Beniwal has been transferred as the Governor of Mizoram for the rest of her term on Sunday.

Governor of Rajasthan   Margaret Alva will discharge the functions of the Governor of Gujarat in addition to her own duties.

Meanwhile, Governor of Mizoram Vakkom Purushothaman has been transferred as the Governor of Nagaland for the remainder of his term.

"Dr. (Smt.) Kamla, Governor of Gujarat is transferred and appointed as Governor of Mizoram for the remainder of her term vice Shri Vakkom Purushothaman," read a press communique issued by the Rashtrapati Bhavan.

"Shri Vakkom Purushothaman, presently Governor of Mizoram is transferred and appointed as Governor of Nagaland for the remainder of his term," it said.

"Smt. Margaret Alva, Governor of Rajasthan to discharge the functions of the Governor of Gujarat, in addition to her own duties, until regular arrangements for the office of the Governor of Gujarat are made. Shri Vakkom Purushothaman will continue to hold the additional charge of the office of the Governor of Tripura," it said.
