Gujarat: Gas leak blast in at ship breaking yard claims 5 lives

Bhavnagar, June 28 (IBNS): At least five persons were killed and ten others were injured in an explosion that occurred at the Alang ship breaking yard in Bhavnagar district in Gujarat on Saturday, reports said.

A gas leak at plot number 140 triggered the blast.

The ship breaking work was in progress when the blast occurred.

The injured have been admitted to a private hospital in Bhavnagar.

This came a day after GAIL pipeline fire in Andhra Pradesh on Friday which claimed at least 15 lives.
