Government determined to bring back black money : Amit Shah

| | May 26, 2015, at 08:32 pm
New Delhi, May 26 (IBNS) The NDA government is determined to bring back black money to the country, BJP chief Amit Shah said on Tuesday.

"The previous United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government failed to tackle the issue of black money. Modi government is determined to put an end to it. We have enacted a law on black money and we shall get the black money back," he said while speaking to media highlighting the Government's achievements on completion of its first year.

Shah claimed that the BJP-led NDA alliance has brought back people’s  faith in the Prime Minister’s Office and the Government is working in a proactive way without any policy paralysis.

He said the Government has maintained a strong stand on corruption and not even the opposition can slap any single charge of scam or corruption against the present dispensation.

Shah claimed the NDA has strengthened the economy by taking several steps while providing relief to farmers. Electricity production in the country had gone up by 8.6 per cent, he said.

"Fiscal deficit is under control, trade has grown and foreign investments are at their highest in 10 years," he said.

“We have given relief to farmers in distress. We have increased the amount of relief by 50 per cent."

Replying a question on why the Government did not  implement its core agendas like abrogation of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir, Uniform Civil Code in India and construction of Ram temple in Ayodhya, Bharatiya Janata,   Shah said  the BJP is  running the Central government as a part of the National Democratic Alliance

"We have not got enough mandate to address the core issues. We need 370 seats according to the Constitution to address them," he said.

The BJP chief said the Government despite not having power in several states in eastern India worked for the development of the region and helped  boost the country's federal structure.

“Despite the BJP not having power in several states in eastern India, we worked for the development of the region as we had promised,” he said.

Shah said, Modi’s interaction with world leaders has increased “India's global acceptance”.
