GHMC results show rejection of dynastic, corrupt politics: BJP president JP Nadda

| @indiablooms | Dec 05, 2020, at 05:57 pm

Hyderabad/UNI: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Jagat Prakash Nadda on Friday night said the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) Election results clearly shows the rejection of the dynastic and corrupt politics.

Taking to micro-blogging site Twitter, Nadda said, "GHMC results show rejection of Dynastic, Corrupt & Appeasement politics. I Congratulate State President @bandisajay & hardworking @BJP4Telangana Karyakartas for their spirited efforts that led to great success. Gratitude to people of Hyderabad for their faith & support."

"Historic result for BJP in Hyderabad GHMC election shows that people of the country supports only & only development agenda. This result reflects people's unequivocal support to Hon PM Shri @narendramodi ji's development & governance model," Nadda added.

TheTRS emerged as the single largest party with 55 seats in the 150-member Corporation while the BJP won 48 seats.

Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (MIM), which retained 44 seats, has emerged as the kingmaker. TRS and MIM are likely to enter into a power sharing arrangement to rule the GHMC.

The Congress had won two seats like in the 2016 election.

Result in Neredmet division was withheld as the number of ballots with ‘distinguished mark’ other than ‘Swastik’ was more than the majority of TRS.

The ruling party was leading by 505 votes but ballots with ‘distinguished mark’ other than ‘swastik’ were 544 votes.

The result will be subject to High Court order.
