FTII: Ashutosh slams Gajendra Chauhan

Kolkata, Jul 31 (IBNS): Attacking the appointment of new chairman Gajendra Chauhan, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) spokesperson Ashutosh on Friday said it was 'unfortunate' that students of the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) have to live with somebody who has no credentials.

Ashutosh was speaking during an interactive session organized by the Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC) in Kolkata's Bengal Club on Friday.

Ashutosh said, "It is very unfortunate that FTII is suffering from something like this."

"FTII is a cultural institution of such a great repute. Students have to live with somebody who has no understanding of and no credentials, it is very unfortunate,” he said.

Students of FTII are protesting over the appointment of actor Gajendra Chauhan as the new chairman of the institution for past several days.

Chauhan was well known for playing the role of  "Yudhishthira" in the popular Indian TV serial Mahabharat and he is also a member of ruling party BJP.
