Fresh ceasefire violation in Jammu after Indo-Pak flag meeting

| | Aug 28, 2014, at 03:36 pm
Jammu, Aug 28 (IBNS): Pakistan troopers targeted three Border Security Force (BSF) posts in the Pargwal sector of Jammu by resorting to unprovoked firing on late Wednesday night, reports said.

The fresh ceasefire violation took place hours after both India and Pakistan held a flag meeting near the international border in the state.

Sources said that small arms and machine guns were used in the attack that started at around 11 pm and went on till 6 am on Thursday along the border.

In Wednesday’s flag meeting, Pakistan Rangers reportedly accused the BSF personnel of "blatantly firing on Pakistani positions" defying ceasefire protocol. They also demanded a Deputy Inspector General (DIG) level flag meeting to be held in the next few days, reports said.

On the other hand, India also claimed that in the last two weeks Pakistan had violated the ceasefire along the Line of Control over 20 times.
