Four Indian nurses killed in Yemen terror attack
New Delhi/Sanaa, Mar 4 (IBNS): Four Indian nurses were among the 16 people killed in a terrorist attack at a retirement home run by Mother Teresa's Missionaries of Charity in Yemen on Friday.
According to reports, two gunmen first surrounded the home in Arden, run by Mother Teresa's Missionaries of Charity, while four more entered the building.
Officials said the gunmen moved from room to room while handcuffing the victims before shooting them in the head.
The Ministry of External Affairs in India, which doesn't have an embassy in the strife-torn Yemen any more, confirmed the deaths in a statement.
Indian External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj tweeted: "Yemen - Four Indian nurses have been killed in a terrorist attack today. I am sorry the nurses stayed back/returned ignoring our advisories."
She urged Indians staying in such 'danger zones' to return to India.
"I appeal to all Indians in such danger zones to please come back to India," she said.
