Yadadri Bhuvanagiri: A fire broke out in two coaches of Falaknuma train No. 12703, which was travelling from Howrah to Secunderabad in this district on Friday.

Amid prompt response, a major disaster was averted as all passengers were swiftly alerted and evacuated from the train.

The incident occurred between Pagidipalli and Bommaipalli while the train was en route to Secunderabad.

As soon as officials received the alert, immediate action was taken to halt the train.

Passengers promptly disembarked and moved away from the affected coaches.

Thick smoke quickly engulfed the area as the fire consumed the two bogies, and it subsequently spread to two other bogies as well. In an effort to contain the fire, railway officials separated the unaffected coaches from the ones on fire.

Unfortunately, due to the unavailability of fire tenders on-site, there were challenges in extinguishing the flames.

Upon learning of the incident, Arun Kumar Jain, the General Manager of South Central Railway (SCR), rushed to the scene, according to sources.
