Fire breaks out in under-construction building, child sustain burn injuries

Shimla/UNI: A massive fire broke out in an under-construction building at sector- 3 of New Shimla, injuring a 12-year-old boy on Wednesday.

Superintendent of Police Om Patti Jamwal said that the incident took place near JCB Public School New Shimla in an under-construction building belonging to Sunil Kukreja when cupboard work was on progress.

The fire brigade was rushed to douse the inferno.

A child, who was identified as Nitesh Uravan (12), son of Situ Uravan and resident of Jharkhand, sustained burn injuries in the mishap.

He was rescued by the police and admitted to DDU Hospital Shimla for treatment.

The fire rendered a loss of Rs. 7-8 lakhs as cupboards, doors, window and the floor reduced to ashes.
