Fire breaks out at Navy warship in Mumbai, 1 die

Mumbai, Jun 21 (IBNS): One person died as a massive fire broke out in under-construction Navy ship 'Visakhapatnam' at Mumbai's Mazagon Docks.

According to reports, the fire started in an air conditioning bay.

The victim, identified as 23-year-old Brajesh Kumar, worked as a contract worker.

According to a statement issued by the Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders, Kumar died due to asphyxiation and burn injuries.

The fire was brought under control and the damage to the property was not widespread.

The Mumbai Fire Brigade aided in the firefighting operations.

Eight fire engines and seven water tankers were rushed to the dockyard after the fire broke out, said reports.
