Fire breaks out at commercial building in Kolkata's Park Street, 10 fire tenders at scene

Kolkata/IBNS: A fire broke out at a commercial multi-storey in south Kolkata's Park Street area on Thursday afternoon, reports said.

According to reports, the smoke was first noticed at around 2:15 pm. on the seventh floor of the building and fire brigade was called in.

As many as 10 fire tenders along with a hydraulic ladder rushed to the scene and firefighting operations are currently underway.

State Fire Minister Sujit Bose has reached the scene and he is overseeing the operation.

The minister confirmed that none was trapped inside the building as almost all the offices, godowns, showrooms and shops located in the multi-storey was closed due to the Covid restrictions.

"No casualty has been reported so far and we are expecting that the blaze will be brought under control very soon," Sujit Bose said.
