Fire break out at crackers manufacturing unit, 10 suffer severe burns

Kakinada,Oct 18 (UNI) In a fire that occurred in a Diwali crackers manufacturing unit at G Vemavaram village of Thallarevu mandal 25 kms from here on Friday ,ten workers received severe burns.

Sub divisional police officer Karanam Kumar told UNI that the sparks emanated from a cracker have fell on the material stored including phosphorous and potash and ignited them.


The injured were admitted to the government general hospital with severe burns and condition of two was stated to be critical.

All the injured are men hailing from G. Vemavaram and Gurajanapalli villages.


The injured were identified as Yarramneedi Satyam , Yarramneedi rahmam, Nagababu , M.Satyanarayana ,Krishnamurty , Govindaraju, Nageswerarao, Leela Venkatesh,, B. Ramakrishna and Govind.

This was the second fire mishap in crackers units in the district in a span of twenty days.
