Ex-AAP leader Alleges Raghav Chadha forced into 'rooster pose' and beaten over money dispute

Jaihind, in a statement, described Chadha as Arvind Kejriwal's "wealthy confidant" (maaldaar raazdaar), accusing him of collecting "extortion money" from Delhi and Punjab meant for Singapore but diverted to London.

"During this time, he was made to stand like a rooster and beaten in Delhi, and then he was beaten at the secret mansion in Chandigarh. This entire matter is about money and corruption, nothing else," Jaihind stated.

The claims link to Chadha's recent demotion as AAP's Rajya Sabha deputy leader, which he called a "coordinated attack" on X, denying related political charges.

Reports trace tensions to Chadha's "silence" after party directives barred him from Parliament speeches, fuelling speculation of internal power struggles ahead of elections.

Jaihind positioned the row as purely financial, dismissing political motives.

Chadha has not directly addressed the assault allegations. AAP sources frame his sidelining as disciplinary, amid broader leadership frictions post-Kejriwal's setbacks. Police have not commented; the claims remain unverified.

AAP has formally removed Chadha earlier this month as deputy leader in the Rajya Sabha and nominated Punjab MP Ashok Mittal as his replacement.

In its communication to the Rajya Sabha secretariat, AAP also requested that Chadha should not be allotted speaking time under the party’s quota.

Chadha, once regarded as a close associate of party chief Arvind Kejriwal and among the youngest prominent parliamentarians, has played a key role in the party’s organisational and electoral efforts, particularly in Punjab and Delhi.
