EU condemns Jerusalem truck attack

Jerusalem, Jan 9 (IBNS): The European Union has condemned the truck attack in Jerusalem city which left at least four people dead on Sunday.

In a statement, the European Union said: "This afternoon four Israelis were killed and many more injured in what appears to have been a deliberate terror attack by a truck driver on a group of people gathered in the Armon Hanatziv promenade."

"The EU condemns the murder of these four young Israelis, as well as any praise or incitement for terrorist acts. We extend our sincere condolences to the families of the victims and hope that those injured will make a full recovery," read the statement.

"There can be no justification for such a crime: the EU will continue to work with those who seek peace and denounce those who pursue violence and terror," the Union said.

At least four people were killed when a truck rammed into a group of soldiers in Jerusalem on Sunday, media reports said.

Medics said three women and one man were killed and 15 people were injured,BBC reported.
