Jammu/IBNS: Principal Secretary Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Department (AP&FWD), Navin Kumar Choudhary, Tuesday chaired a meeting to review the implementation of Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBJ) in J&K.

The meeting discussed issues regarding release of J&K's share under PMFBY during FY 2020-21.

Choudhary also directed officers concerned to release the union territory's share immediately to settle all crop insurance claims.

While highlighting the importance of the scheme, Navin Choudhary said insurance is meant for providing economic security to farmers.

This allows farmers to cope up with losses arising on account of crop failures or natural calamities.
