ED recovers Rs 30 lakh and gold from tailor

Chandigarh, Dec 17 (IBNS) In a crackdown on black money hoarders, the Enforcement Directorate has reportedly recovered about Rs 30 lakh in cash and 2.5 kg gold from a tailor's premises in Punjab, said ED on Saturday, according to media reports.

The recovery was made from the Maharaja Tailor in Punjab's Mohali and another place in Chandigarh.

The currencies were in demoninations of 2000, 100 and 50. 

A probe is underway to reach the source of the money and gold.

Following the demonetisation, nationwide raids are on by various agencies.

In massive raids being conducted by Income Tax Department officials across the country, new and old notes worth Rs. 6.43 crore were seized in Bengaluru, Panjim, Faridabad and Delhi earlier.
