Dowry harassment: 3 people booked for driving pregnant woman out of house

Thane, Jul 5 (UNI) A man, along with his two family members, was booked for allegedly throwing his pregnant wife out of the house over dowry demands, police said on Friday.

According to police, the three accused have been identified as the husband Satya Konar, his mother Parasakti and brother Kartik, all of whom are the residents of the Kalyan city of this district.

Quoting the 21-year-old complainant wife, police said that she was married to the accused Satya on September 11 last year and added that after as months passed, the in-laws made a dowry demand of Rs 1 lakh.

The complainant further alleged that later her in-laws started harassing her as she wasn't in a position to fullfil their demand.

The in-laws threw her out of the house at the time when she was five months pregnant and even disowned the unborn child, read the complaint.

A case have been registered against the trio but no arrest have been yet made.
