Didi hits out at media for turning Trinamool leaders into thieves

Kolkata, Nov 6 (IBNS): West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Wednesday evening attacked a section of media for turning her party leaders into thieves.

The CM said no one from her party had taken any money from the Saradha Group chitfund. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and the Enforcement Directorate (ED) are investigating the multi-crore scam and has already summoned many Trinamool lawmakers for interrogation in connection with the case.

“There are many poor parties like us who have never stolen… but a section of media here has turned us into thieves. Who has taken Saradha money? Our party has not taken any chit fund money,” the CM hollered at a party rally.

In its first charge sheet the CBI named only one Trinamool leader, suspended Rajya Sabha MP Kunal Ghosh who is now behind the bars.

The federal investigating agency also arrested former state police top cop and Trinamool leader Rajat Majumdar in September this year and questioned five other party MPs.
