Mumbai/IBNS: Even as the future of the new Maharashtra government remains uncertain, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Monday signed a cheque for the Chief Minister's Relief Fund.

Fadnavis got down to work after assuming office for the second term. He reached the state secretariat building in south Mumbai and signed the cheques for the Chief Minister's Relief Fund, which he handed over to a woman.

"CM Devendra Fadnavis' first signature of this tenure was done on a #CMReliefFund cheque, on reaching Mantralaya, which was handed over to Kusum Vengurlekar by CM," the Chief Minister's Office tweeted.

He took oath as Maharashtra Chief Minister for a consecutive term on Saturday in a sudden move that left his rivals dumbfounded.

Fadnavis took to the duties of the Chief Minister's Office after the Supreme Court said it would deliver its judgment on the surprise government formation in Maharashtra on Tuesday.
