Democratic institutions being undermined: CWC
New Delhi, Jan 13 (IBNS) Criticising the Narendra Modi government, the Congress on Tuesday said democratic institutions in the country were being undermined.
The party also observed that the 'true colours' of the BJP was becoming clear with its leaders making statements on polarisation strategy.
Briefing reporters after the Congress Working Committee meeting, party leader Janardan Dwivedi said the meeting noted that 1 ordinance was being promulgated by the BJP government every 28 days.
He said the meeting had two aspects- one was election and the other was prices.
Land ordinance and amendments in Forest Rights Act were among the issues that were discussed, he said.
Congress President Sonia spoke first:"given that previous year was a challenging one, I hope new year will bring new beginning for the party."
Giving call for renewing party membership programme, Mrs.Gandhi reportedly stressed the need for reflecting on the organisation's shortcomings and urged all to be 'extra vigilant' about what his happening around.
She said over the last few weeks true colours and intentions of BJP and government have become clear as influential members made statements a strategy of polarisation.
The Congress President said the PM did not mention how he had lowered the prices.
