Delhi shops to open on odd-even basis: Arvind Kejriwal

New Delhi/IBNS: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Monday announced certain guidelines that are needed to be followed during the fourth phase of the COVID-19 lockdown where he said shops need to be opened on  odd-even basis.

"Markets can open but shops will open on odd-even basis," Kejriwal said while addressing the press address.

He said sports complex and stadiums can open but no spectators can visit it.

Barber shops, spas and saloons  will remain shut at present.

"Stepping out of homes between 7 pm to 7 am, except for essential services will be prohibited," the Delhi CM said.

He said taxis and cabs will be allowed to operate in the city with only 2 passengers at a time.

Metro, shopping malls, religious gatherings will remain banned in the city for this phase of the lockdown.

Kejriwal said no activity will be allowed in containment zones in Delhi during this period.

India extended the lockdown to fight COVID-19 cases till May 31.

The third phase of the lockdown ended on May 17.

Over 5000 fresh COVID-19 cases were reported in India on Sunday as the total number of infected people in the country now stands at 96,169, as per data released by the Ministry of Health.

The country has added  5,242 new COVID-19 positive cases, marking the biggest single-day spike.

The death toll due to COVID-19 now stands at 3029.

There are 56316 active cases in the country at present.

So far, 36823 people have recovered from the highly infectious disease in India.

What is allowed during Lockdown 4.0 in Delhi:

.Bus services with restrictions.

• Odd even for shops in the market.

• Home delivery of food.

• Autorickshaw with 1 passenger.

• Cabs with 2 passengers.

• Standalone shops.

• Industries with staggered timings

Whats is not allowed in Delhi during Lockdown 4.0:

• Metros.

• Schools, colleges, universities.

• Hotels.

• Cinema halls, malls, bars.

• Political, religious gatherings.

• Barbers, spa and salons.

• Curfew from 7 pm-7 am, except for essentials.
