Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal announces free education for children who are orphaned by COVID-19

New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday announced his government will give free education to children whose parents died due to COVID-19.

He also said these children will be provided Rs. 2,500 per month assistance till they reach the age of 25.

Kejriwal announced several welfare measures for poverty- and disaster-hit families.

He also announced that 72 lakh people from poor families will also get 10 kg of free rations this month.

He said those families where an earning member has died due to COVID-19 a pension of Rs. 2500 will be provided and a one-time payment of ₹ 50,000 will also be given to them.

Delhi is one of the badly COVID-19 hit regions in the country.
