Delhi Assembly polls: Omar Abdullah hilariously targets INDIA alliance as AAP, Congress struggle

| @indiablooms | Feb 08, 2025, at 10:29 am

Taking an apparent jab at the INDIA alliance amid the Bharatiya Janata Party's strong show in the Delhi polls, where the counting of votes for the Assembly elections is currently going on, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah wrote a social media post saying 'aur laro aapas mein' (keep fighting among yourself).

"Aur lado aapas mein!!! (keep fighting among yourself), " Abdullah wrote on X and shared GIF along with it.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) crossed the majority mark and raced past the ruling Aam Aadmi Party with the counting of votes for the high-voltage 70-seat Delhi Assembly polls currently underway on Saturday.

As per trends at 10.15 am, the BJP is leading in 43 seats, paving the way to return to power in the national capital after 27 years.

The Aam Aadmi Party, which ruled the UT for two consecutive terms, is trailing behind the saffron brigade with a lead in 27 seats.

The Congress continued to struggle and failed to take a lead in a single seat.

Atishi trailing

Delhi Chief Minister Atishi is trailing in the politically crucial Kalkaji seat behind BJP's candidate Ramesh Bidhuri.

Speaking to the media, Bidhuri said: "Trends are showing that BJP is coming to power and AAP will surely exit from Delhi."

Kejriwal leading

After trailing in the initial rounds of counting, Delhi's former CM Arvind Kejriwal is currently leading in the New Delhi seat.

Former Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia is trailing in the Jangpura seat.
