Crucial flag meeting between India and Pakistan held at Poonch

Jammu, Sept 21 (IBNS) Commanders of the India and Pakistan armies on Monday held a flag meeting at Poonch in Jammu and Kashmir to address issues of ceasefire violations along the Line of Control (LoC) and the international border.

Reports said the  army officials of the two sides met at the Chakan-da-Bagh crossing point.

Brig HS Sareen, commander of the 121 Brigade, led the Indian side while the brigade commander of Poonch-Rawalakote headed the Pakistani team.

Tension between the two countries escalated in the recent times following incidents of repeated ceasefire violations for which both India and Pakistan are blaming each other.

The conflict has resulted in the death of several security personnel  and civilians and collateral damage.
