Crime: Middleman of Gujarat Sarpanch nabbed for taking Rs 20,000 bribe

Morbi, Jul 16 (UNI) A middleman of a Sarpanch in this district was arrested on Tuesday by Anti Corruption Bureau for taking a bribe of Rs 20,000 on behalf of the village head.

Assistant Director of the ACB D P Chudasama said that Sarpanch of Lagdhirpur village, Jagdish Jadav had sought Rs 30,000 bribe from the complainant who constructed a bore-well on government land for bottled drinking water supply and already accepted Rs 10,000 on July 7.

Based on the complaint, his middleman Pokarlal Gurjar, a native of Rajasthan, was nabbed red handed taking the remaining amount of Rs 20,000 from the complainant in a hotel.

The Sarpanch has fled and attempts were on to nab him too, the ACB official said.
