New Delhi/UNI:  In the wake of rising crime against women in the country, Mahila Congress on Friday announced to organise a protest march in the National Capital.

Talking to mediapersons at AICC headquarters, Mahila Congress chief Sushmita Dev, along with party spokesperson Sharmishta Mukherjee said the march is neither 'political' nor against any party or individual.

The march, being called 'Main saahasi hoon (I am courageous), will begin from Mandi House at 1630 hrs and culminate at Jantar Mantar.

"It's a unity march. We will take out the march in solidarity against the rising number of crimes against women and hope that it is not seen as a political issue, although the march is being led by Mahila Congress", said Ms Dev.

She also said, besides, Mahila Congress, people from Congress, and it's frontal organisations will join them and added that people from civil society have also been invited.

The march follows incidents of rape and murder in Hyderabad and Unnao in Uttar Pradesh leading to a furore in the entire country.
