New Delhi/IBNS: The Delhi government on Thursday allowed the operation of food home delivery services during 21-day lockdown which has been called by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to fight the COVID-19.

"Food home delivery services have been allowed, the delivery persons can show their ID cards that will be sufficient," announced Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.

However, the essential services including the grocery shops, banks, ATMs, pharmacies, media have been exempted by the Centre from the lockdown.

Kejriwal also announced that no Mohalla Clinic will remain closed though a Mohalla Clinic doctor was tested positive.

"Unfortunately a Mohallah clinic doctor is tested positive, but Delhi government won't shut clinics as this would cause lot of inconvenience to people. Mohalla clinic will remain open. We will ensure safety of all doctors and their tests will be done regularly," the Chief Minister said.

So far in India, at least 650 people including 13 deceased and 42 cured have been infected with the virus.
