Court charges framed against Delhi company in coal block scam

New Delhi, May 19 (IBNS) A special court on Tuesday framed charges against Delhi-based Rathi steel and Power Limited in a coal block allocation scam case.

The MD of the firm Pradeep Rathi, CEO Udit Rathi and AGM Kushal Aggarwal have all been chargesheeted, reports said.

The court framed charges under sections 120B (criminal conspiracy) read with 420 (cheating) against all accused and section 420 against RSPL and CEO Udit Rathi.

All three accused are presently out on bail. The CBI had filed a case against Rathi steel in 2013.

Finance Minister Arun Jaitley has slammed  at the previous Congress-led UPA government over coal allocations. He said, "Telephonic recordings show mines were given to minister's favourites. Coal mines were allocated to those who did not deserve it."
