Congress releases first list for Maharashtra Assembly polls
New Delhi, Sep 29 (UNI) The Congress Party on Sunday released the first list of 51 candidates for Maharashtra Assembly Polls.
The State Congress Chief Balasaheb Thorat will contest from Sangamner Assembly constituency while former PCC chief Ashok Chavan will contest from Bhokar.
The working Congress president Dr Nitin Raut will contest from Nagpur North, Yashomati Thakur from Teosa, Aarif Naseem Khan from Chandiwali assembly constituencies.
In constituencies located in Mumbai, Sayyad Muzaffar Hussain will be candidate from Mira Bhayandar constituency while Varsha Gaikwad will contest from Dharavi.
The list was released by Party General Secretary Mukul Wasnik at the party headquarters here.
The Maharashtra has 288 assembly seats and the state is going for polls on October 21 and counting of votes would be taken up on the 24th.
