New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday targeted the Congress party on the floor of the Lok Sabha and said it was trying to score political brownie points even at the time of COVID-19.

"The Congress Party has crossed all limits in this time of COVID-19," Modi said.

He further said: "During the first wave, when people were following lockdowns, guidelines were suggesting that people stay where they are, the Congress was standing at Mumbai Station and scaring innocent people."

Even attacking the Aam Aadmi Party government Delhi indirectly, he said: "The government in Delhi also encouraged people to run away to villages. What kind of politics is that?"

The AAP is contesting the polls in Punjab.

Targeting the opposition, Modi said: "If we are talking about being vocal for local, are we not fulfilling the dreams of Mahatma Gandhi? Then, why was it being mocked by the Opposition?"

"We talked about Yoga and Fit India but that was mocked by the Opposition too," he said.

“Some leaders are stuck in 2014,” said Modi in an indirect attack on the Congress top brass.

“People who do not take lessons from history, they get lost in history,” said Modi.

In a bid to corner Congress further, he said: "Sometimes Congress’ activities make me feel they are not interested in coming to power in 100 years."

He also targeted the Aam Aadmi Party government of Delhi and said: "

Modi targeted the Congress at a time when several states in the country, including Punjab and Uttar Pradesh, are gearing up to vote to elect new Assemblies.
