Congress MP Karti Chidambram tests positive for Covid-19
New Delhi/IBNS: Congress MP and the son of former Union Finance Minister Karti Chidambaram has tested positive for novel coronavirus.
The parliamentarian tweeted his health status and said his symptoms are mild and he has quarantined himself in his home.
"I have just tested positive for #Covid. My symptoms are mild and as per medical advice I am under home quarantine. I would urge all those who have recently been in contact with me to follow medical protocol," the 48-year-old posted.

Several prominent leaders across political parties have tested Coronavirus positive in the last few days as the country recorded 1.5 lakh new cases in the last three days.
On Sunday, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa said they have tested positive for the virus. Both the leaders are currently hospitalised and under treatment.
Media reports said six of BS Yediyurappa's staff have also tested covid positive. His daughter Padmavathi has also tested positive for the virus, the Chief Minister's son, Vijayendra, has tested negative, reports added.
Uttar Pradesh Minister Kamal Rani, 62, succumbed to Covid-19 in Lucknow's Sanjay Gandhi Postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences on Sunday.
Tamil Nadu Governor Banwarilal Purohit and MadhyaPradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and three of his ministers also tested positive.
After nine MLAs tested positive for coronavirus in Madhya Pradesh, the state government prohibited agitations, public meetings and political rallies till August 14 to contain the spread of coronavirus among politicians and their supporters.
The political parties in the state have been campaigning for the bypolls to 24 seats, likely to be held later this year, whose results could have major political implications.
