Compensation provided to victims of 1984 Anti-Sikh Riots
New Delhi, Nov 26 (IBNS): The Government of India had already provided ex-gratia to the victims of 1984 anti-Sikh riots through a ‘Rehabilitation Package’ announced in 2006.
A sum of Rs. 534.20 crores has so far been disbursed till date by the concerned States / UTs.
This was stated by Minister of State for Home Affairs Kiren Rijiju in a written reply to Sardar Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa in the Rajya Sabha on Wednesday.
