Coal scam: Ex- PM Manmohan Singh gets temporary relief

New Delhi, Apr 1 (IBNS) Giving temporary relief to former PM Manmohan Singh, the Supreme Court on Wednesday stayed the summons to him by a Delhi Court in connection with the coal block allocation scam case.

Singh on Mar 25 moved the Supreme Court challenging the special CBI court summons to him.

Singh has been named as one of the accused in the Talabira coal block allocation case.He was asked to appear before the court on Apr 8.

Besides Singh, former coal secretary PC Parakh, Hindalco, Kumar Mangalam Birla and two others were accused in the coal block allocation scam.

Singh had served as the PM of India for 10 years from 2004 to 2014.
