Chit fund scam: Ex-Advocate General of Odisha arrested

Bhubaneswar, Sept 22 (IBNS) The Central Bureau of Investigation has arrested ex- Odisha Advocate General Ashok Mohanty in connection with a chit fund scam in the east Indian state.

The probe agency had earlier questioned him this month.

"He bought a luxurious house in Cuttack at minimum prices from a prime accused in the scam," CNN-IBN reported quoting sources.

Sources in the CBI said the channel that he was unable to furnish the documents to prove his claim that he had actually bought the house and it was not gifted by the scam accused.
