New Delhi, Sept 18 (IBNS): Tibetan leader in exile Dalai Lama on Thursday praised visiting Chinese President Xi Jinping by calling him an “open-minded” person and asserted that China should learn from India.
Speaking to media persons, the spiritual leader said, India is a land of great diversity. Everyone can learn from India.

On being asked about Chinese President Xi Jinping's visit to India he said, "Tibet's problem is also India's problem, understanding comes through talks."

He added, "Xi Jinping's thinking is more realistic and more open minded so he can learn more from India."

Xi Jinping is now in India on a three-day visit.

On Thursday he met Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The two leaders held bilateral talks in New Delhi, which lasted for over 90 minutes after which 12 agreements were signed between the two nations.

But the capital witnessed protest from Tibetans who, shouted slogans in front of Hyderabad House where Modi and Xi met.

A minor scuffle started when police tried to remove them.

They were detained and taken away by the police.

All these led to a traffic jam in the area.
