Madurai, Sept 14 (IBNS) The remains of four human bodies, allegedly belonging to those buried by a mining baron after human sacrifice, have have been exhumed in a granite quarry area at E Malampatti in Madurai district, reports said.

According to a local whistle-blower, bodies of two men were buried  around 15 years ago by a mining baron in the region after offering them as human sacrifice.

The  skeletons were exhumed after an employee of mining  mogul PR Palainisamy mentioned them to senior bureaucrat U Sayagam, who is leading an inquiry into tax and other violations by the powerful granite lobby, active in illegal mining in the region.

A police case has been registered over the bodies found with  Palanisamy listed as the main accused. His company, PRP Granites, has denied any wrongdoing.

The bones that were found have been sent for forensic tests.
