Cellphone 'thief' killed in Kolkata's NRS Medical College and Hospital

Kolkata, Nov 16 (IBNS) A man died after he was allegedly bobbitised and beaten up by students and junior doctors of Kolkata's NRS Medical College and Hospital, the police said on Sunday.

The deceased man is suspected to be a mobile phone thief.

The incident reportedly occurred in the   junior doctors’ hostel.

A construction workers at the hostel said the man was beaten up by some students.

The worker said the students were carrying sticks.

The identity of man of the man has not been identified so far.

Deputy Commissioner of Police Dhrubojyoti Dey said: "We have started an investigation into the matter."

The Entally police station has registered a case in connection to the matter.
