CBI files 6 cases in Manipur violence

New Delhi/UNI: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Friday registered six cases in connection with the recent violence in Manipur.

"CBI today registered six cases transferred by the State of Manipur pertaining to incidents of large scale violence leading to destruction and looting of properties, arson, looting/snatching of arms/ ammunition, and loss of human lives in various districts," the probe agency said in a communiqué.

A special Investigation Team (SIT) has been constituted for a thorough probe in the said six cases and to unearth criminal conspiracy behind the unfortunate incidents, CBI said.

CBI said that investigation is underway.
